A professional voiceover for over twenty years, I offer the unusual combination of being a trained actor, with a mathematics degree and a background in business.
Born in Essex, my early childhood was spent moving around England & Wales a lot before finally settling in beautiful leafy Wiltshire.
It’s no wonder then that my natural accent is neutral British English (aka RP) and it could also go some way to explaining where my strong, authoritative, warm and approachable voice style comes from.
You could say that I’ve spent a large part of the last 20 years being paid to talk to myself in a padded cell!
I’m an award-winning highly-experienced commercials, corporates and documentary voiceover (or whatever industry term you prefer – English FVO, English Voice Talent, UK voiceover talent, UK Voice-over, UK Voice Talent, UK Voice, British Voice, voice actor, voice over actor, voice artist, voiceover artist or even British Voiceover Artiste!), with a warm, silky, intelligent and informative style.
As well as voicing thousands of commercials, corporates and documentaries, I can also be heard in video games, animation, museum guides, in audio dramas and audiobooks, as a Voice of God at events, and I even talk to you from within such random objects as an MRI scanner and an airplane cockpit. I am also the newest voice on the London tube, where I can be heard daily telling Northern Line passengers where they should go, or maybe where to get off?
My studio is in hipster Hackney Wick in London’s East End, a stone’s throw from the London Stadium, which I regularly gaze at when I’m sat in the studio garden with a cuppa in between voice sessions.
I work from a fully-equipped broadcast-quality studio, and I turn work around speedily, within 24 hours or even faster. For all my detailed studio tech specs, click here.
It’s also really easy for me to get from here to sessions in central London studios, I can be there within an hour if needed.
I trained as an actor and singer at Mountview in London. I’ve worked professionally on stage, TV and in film as an actual real human as well as all my disembodied voiceover work.
I occasionally perform on the London comedy circuit and am also a member of the London Liars League acting company, who regularly present new short stories in front of a paying and appreciative audience. I also sing in a great choir, whose many prestigious performances include the BBC Proms, the Royal Variety Show and the Olivier Awards.
When not earning money as a disembodied voice in a sound-proof metal box, a disproportionate amount of my time is spent puzzling my way out of escape rooms, shouting at a lot of sport (especially Bath & England Rugby) and eating and sometimes even baking cake!
